Dear Mum

I know we have heard this saying for millions of times, “mothers know best” this tested and proven. Each and every one of us have different kinds of moms and if there were something they have in common, it’s for being the great, caring, and loving mothers they are. Just imagine all the things they do for us, nothing can compare to a mum’s love.

Mother’s Day commemorates every mother out there in the world. It is celebrated annually on the second week of May. This holiday is celebrated in different kinds of ways around the globe.

  • Take for instance, Mexico. Mexico celebrates Mother’s Day every 10th of May. Families often gather together for a meal enjoying signature Mexican dishes and children serenading their mothers sometimes accompanied by a band. And of course, showering mothers with gifts is out of the question.
  • Heading to Asia, next up is Thailand. Thailand celebrates  Mother’s Day every 12th of August alongside the birthday of Sirikit the queen mother of Thailand. The children kneel at their mother’s feet while thanking her for all the things she has done or in case the mother is not present, the dad takes her place.

No matter how different Mother’s Day is celebrated in different parts of the world, it all comes to down to one thing, taking the time of honoring our precious moms.
